Maria Dolores has a degree in economics and business studies, as well as insurance actuary, from the University of the Basque Country and a Master’s degree in finance from the Wharton University and the London Business School. She also has a diploma in corporate governance from the Institute of Directors-Administrators (IC-A).
In 2018, after over 25 years of experience in the finance sector, Maria Dolores created Regtech Solutions to provide GRC (governance, risk and compliance) consulting services through the most efficient technology.
In 2019, she was named as one the Top 100 Leading Women in Spain (by Mujeres&Cia) and she has held executive positions in leading banks and insurance companies, including: Banco Santander, Allianz, Prudential and Generali.
In addition to an international trajectory with responsibilities in Europe and Latin America, Maria Dolores has extensive experience in managing regulatory projects with particular focus on business oriented towards the creation of value, an indispensable condition for ensuring the long-term sustainability of companies.
Furthermore, she is a member of the board of directors of VidaCaixa and chair of its risk committee, as well as a member of the board of directors of Admiral Europe S.A. (as an independent director) and of the audit committee. She also forms part of the advisory committee of the Institute of Compliance Officers, gives classes on the Master’s degree on compliance at the IE and directs the course on good corporate governance of insurance entities at INESE.
